The transport infrastructure of the Municipality is fairly well developed.

Economy and business
The processes of restructuring and privatization of the existing state-owned and municipal companies have been completed. About 337 business entities have been registered. Most of them have trade and services as subject of activities. A major company in industrial production is Promet AD, Debelt village - metal working, trading in steel, and production of iron alloys. Agriculture is a major sector of the municipal economy. The arable land on the territory of Sredets Municipality is 512,000,000 sq. m. The largest is the portion of fields (96 %), and perennial crops (2.5 %). Mostly grains and industrial crops are grown and less perennial crops, in particular vineyards with wine grapes, and plum trees. In the recent years 260,000 sq. m have been planted with new perennial crops. The Municipality has a tradition in cattle breeding, sheep breeding and pigs growing. Milk is produced by Farming Cooperatives and private companies in the fields in lowlands. The cattle breeding sector in the semi-mountainous part of the Municipality produces mainly meat. The existing 25 dam lakes on the territory of Sredets Municipality allow for irrigation of a part of the arable land. The forest fund on the territory of Sredets Municipality is of total area of 413,360,000 sq. m. and is concentrated mainly in the southeastern part of the Municipality. It is managed by the Bourgas and Sredets State Forestry Boards.

Environmental Protection and Tourism
The Strandzha Mountain forests and the lower stream of the Fakijska River possess a wide diversity of flora and fauna, and are the home of some rare and protected species. The Municipality offers wonderful opportunities for hunting, fishing and tourism. It has ancient history. Significant monuments of culture exist in it, such as dolmens, Thracian sanctuaries, Deultum Debelt National Reserve and others.
